'Upper Myagdi' Hydropower Project: 50% physical progress in 13 months
Myagdi. In the 13 months since the construction of the under construction 'Upper Myagdi' hydropower project in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality of Myagdi, 50% physical progress has been achieved. The 46.25 MW capacity project promoted by Hydro Empire Limited has accelerated the construction of dams, tunnels, power houses, transmission lines, hydro and electromechanical projects with the goal of starting electricity generation within the month of March 2083. Ramesh Subedi, the head of the project, informed that the construction of the project, which started in March 2081, has achieved 50 percent physical progress.
"We have progressed the work according to the action plan to complete the underground structure including the tunnel within the next eight months", he said, "The civil contractor is doing the work of the tunnel, dam and power house for speed, while the work of the transmission line and Penstake pipeline will also start soon."
Project chief Subedi said that 4,220 meters of the entire underground structure, including the 6,425-meter main tunnel, had been completed by Tuesday. Dam in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-4 Singkosh Dobhan and power house in Ghimleti 9Kharpani0 are under construction.
