Unity announcement today between 9 parties including Maoist and Unified Socialists
Kathmandu. Party unity is being announced today between nine left components including CPN Maoist Center, CPN Unified Socialists. A unity declaration meeting has been held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu. There are plans to hold a public demonstration in the Bhrikutimandap area before the Ekta Ghoshan Assembly.
Groups including Maoist Center, Unified Socialist, Nepal Samajwadi Party, CPN Socialist, Jana Samajwadi Party, Nepal, Nepal Communist Party, CPN Maoist Socialist and CPN Communist are going to participate in this unity process. It has been agreed that the name of the unified party formed after the merger will be 'Nepali Communist Party' and the election symbol will be a five-pointed star.
After the merger, it is agreed that the coordinator of the party will be Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and the co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal. It is agreed that the guiding principles of the party will be Marxism and Leninism. Last Sunday, the agreement on party unity was signed by eight members of the left, including the Maoists and the United Socialists. After that, the Patriotic Samajwadi Front led by Gopal Kiranti has also decided to participate in the unity process.
It has been agreed to organize a national unity convention within the next 6 months among the left components participating in the unity process.
