Brutal murder of forest heralu: Head found 100 meters away from the body, one arrested

Kathmandu. New facts have come out in the gruesome murder case of Ramaishwar Mahato, a forest ranger working in the Sagarnath Forest Project at Ishwarpur in Sarlahi. The severed head of Mahato, whose headless body was found on Saturday, was found at a distance of about 100 meters from the site of the incident.

According to Sarlohi District Police Office Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Saroj Rai, the search for the head was going on since Saturday. A special investigation team from Lalgarh in Dhanusha along with two trained dogs found the head during the search this afternoon.

Background of the incident On Saturday morning, after hearing the sound of cutting trees in the forest, Mahato went to the forest on a bicycle to stop it. However, after he did not return home till evening, his headless body was found in the forest during the search.

Police investigation and arrest Police have arrested one person on suspicion of this brutal murder. However, the identity of the arrested person has been kept confidential as it may affect the investigation. The police have carried out a detailed investigation from the possible involvement of forest mafia or timber smugglers.
