4 arrested with raw bananas worth about 11 lakhs

Kathmandu. Police arrested four people with raw bananas worth more than 11 lakh rupees from Bhutaha market in Harinagar rural municipality-4 of Sunsari on Friday. Keshab Kumar Thebe, Superintendent of Police of District Police Office, Sunsari, informed that the driver of the vehicle, Pralhad Dahal, 22, of Morang Ratuwamai Rural Municipality-8, Gyan Bahadur Bhattarai, 24, of Morang Urlabari Municipality-8, Seraj Mian, 27, of Sunsari Bhokra Hanarsingh Rural Municipality-2, and Rameshwar Das, 60, of Koshi Rural Municipality (Bhantabari-8).

He informed that when the police team deployed on the basis of the information checked the pick-up vehicles numbered P 1-02-002 F 7449 and P 1-01-002 F 1801 coming from Ghuski towards Inaruwa, they were seized with unripe bananas. According to the District Police Office, the recovered material is valued at 11 lakh 20 thousand rupees. Police said that the seized banana and vehicle were handed over to Sunsari Customs Office Setubandh Kosi Barrage for necessary action.
