Kathmandu. A mother and son have been killed in Parwanipur Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 Rahariadi of Bara. 46-year-old Sumitradevi Mandal and her son Rameshwar Mandal, 24, died on the spot when the group fired sharp weapons on Wednesday morning.
According to District Police Office spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police 9DSP Vijayraj Pandit, two other members of the family were also seriously injured in the attack by an unknown person. Among the injured are 50-year-old housewife Jagroop Mandal and her daughter Reena Kumari, 22.
Police said that their condition is serious and they are being treated at LS Neuro Hospital in Parwanipur. Looking at the nature of the incident, although it is initially assumed that the murder may have been due to RISIB, the clear reason for the murder and the identity of the persons involved are yet to be ascertained. DSP Pandit said that a detailed investigation is being carried out on who committed the murder and why.
This incident has spread panic in the local traffic area. The police said that after taking control of the place of the incident, security alert has been increased and a team with trained dogs has been mobilized to search for the culprits.
