The head of Lahan municipality, Mahesh Prasad Choudhary informed that firewood burning has started at Gramin Chowk, Radhakrishna Chowk, Ganesh Chowk, Hanumansthan, Hulak Chowk and other places.
He said, "We have started an immediate relief program to protect the residents of the city from the increasing cold. Firewood has been lit in the main square of the market area and preparations are being made to distribute firewood to the necessary places in all the 24 wards in coordination with the wards." According to him, preparations have been made to distribute fiber vinegar to 500 families targeting poor and disadvantaged communities. He said, "The municipality is doing its best to ensure that no one's life is at risk from the cold." Meanwhile, Manoj Yadav, Principal of Padaria Tharu Tol Secondary School informed that the attendance of students in the school has decreased due to the sudden change in weather and continuous cold wind.
