A temporary ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, which has been going on for four years, has started

Kathmandu. Between Russia and Ukraine, a short-term temporary ceasefire will be implemented from Saturday, on the occasion of Orthodox Easter, amid the fierce conflict that has been going on for four years. This step is seen as a small but important sign of humanitarian relief in the context of the US-led peace efforts not being successful as expected.

According to the instructions issued by the Kremlin, a 32-hour ceasefire will be enforced from Saturday 4 pm 13 GMT to Sunday night. During this period, Defense Minister Andrei Belosov and Army Chief Valery Gerasimov were ordered to completely stop hostile activities on all fronts.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also mentioned that his country is ready for a ceasefire on the occasion of Easter. He said that he is willing to respond positively to Russia's proposal.
