Iran's statement that Hormuz can be opened within two days if America fulfills its demands
Kathmandu. Baghai said that the seven-day plan proposed by Tehran will be considered as the basis for indirect talks between Iran and the US. Iran has shown goodwill by shortening the implementation period of the plan to two days. After the Israeli and American attacks, Iran tightened its control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai said on Monday that the Strait of Hormuz could be reopened within two days if the US meets Iran's "legitimate" demands. At a weekly press conference in Tehran, Baghai said any indirect talks between Iran and the US through a mediator would be based on the seven-day plan proposed by Tehran last September.
He also mentioned that Iran has reduced the implementation period of the plan to two days as a sign of its goodwill. He said, "If Iran's demands are met, it will be possible to restore security in the Strait of Hormuz and start the negotiation process in a short time." He clarified that the final decision is in the hands of the American side.
