Kathmandu. A powerful earthquake of 8.2 magnitude occurred in the Philippines on Monday. The buildings were damaged by the earthquake. A tsunami warning has been issued after the earthquake. Residents of the affected areas have been asked to move to safer places.
Strong tremors were felt in different parts of the country. Some school and university buildings have also been damaged.
The earthquake struck near the coast of the southern Philippine island of Mindanao. This increases the risk of structural damage and possible tsunamis, officials said.
