Nepal had set a goal of doubling the number of tigers within a decade according to international targets. According to Secretary Sharma, the increase in tigers is more than the target. Recently,21 tigers have died. Ashok Ram, Chief Conservation Officer of Bardia National Park, said that the tigers in the park and community forest have died due to floods, poaching, fighting among themselves and natural causes.
Conservation, protection, habitat expansion and poaching control are considered to be the main reasons for the increase in the number of tigers.
