Bagmati filling up on Shivratri: 400 liters per second water is released

Kathmandu. Aiming at this year's Mahashivratri festival, water has been released from the Dhapdyam to increase the flow of water in the Bagmati River. The water flow has been started with the aim of making bathing easier for the devotees and enhancing the beauty of the river.
The Bagmati Improvement Project under the empowered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee has said that steps have been taken to increase the water level in the river as a large number of devotees attend the Pashupatinath temple premises on the day of Mahashivratri. According to the project, water has been gradually released from Dhap Dam since this afternoon. It is also said that coordination has been done so that water flows continuously throughout the festival period.
