Trump threatens to close Hormuz forever if talks fail

Main News Image

Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has warned that the Strait of Hormuz, which is controlled by Iran, may be closed forever. He indicated that if Iran does not remove the obstruction, the US will proceed with the process of closing the sea route.

It is said that Trump gave this warning after the 21-hour talks in Islamabad did not yield any conclusion. He mentioned that the world's most powerful US Navy can advance the process of closing Hormuz through social media. He has also warned that the US will take strict action if all ships are not allowed to move equally.

It is said that due to Iran's obstruction in the Hormuz region, the economy of the countries that depend on crude oil in the Middle East has been affected. Currently, even though Hormuz is technically not completely closed, Iran is said to be allowing only ships that pay tolls to pass through.
