Tribhuvan Airport will remain closed for 7 hours at night till May 4
Kathmandu. In order to speed up infrastructure construction at Tribhuvan International Airport, flights and landings will be stopped for 7 hours every night. According to Induraj Adhikari, Head of Terminal Management Division of the airport, the airport will be closed every day from 11:45 pm to 6:30 am until the next 4th of June to complete the 'pavement construction work'.
In the notification issued by the airport office, it is mentioned that this decision has been taken to complete the construction work quickly. Currently, as construction work is going on in the taxiway area next to the runway, flight operations are going to be completely stopped at night for security reasons. Considering the possible impact on passenger and flight management during this period, the airport office has requested all air service providers to adjust their flight and landing schedules as needed.
