Kathmandu. Nepal Oil Corporation Executive Director Chandika Prasad Bhatt clarified that there is no shortage of cooking gas in the market. He said that the rumor that there is going to be shortage of gas in recent times is baseless and asked the consumers not to panic. Giving information through social media on Wednesday, Bhatt said that the gas supply system is easy and sufficient.

He claimed that gas is being imported regularly to meet the demand of daily consumption. According to Bhatt, there is currently a demand of 114,000 cylinders of 90 bullet gas per day in Nepal. However, in recent days, gas is being loaded from Indian Oil Corporation IOC in excess of demand.

He mentioned that on Saturday 118 bullets were loaded with about 149 thousand 500 cylinders, on Monday 115 bullets and on Tuesday 132 bullets were loaded with gas. Some of these bullets have already entered Nepal and some are on the way. He has requested the consumers not to store gas unnecessarily as the supply is easy. Also, the corporation has made it clear that gas supply will continue at the current level even during the upcoming elections.
