South Korea started talks with Iran to open the Hormuz Strait

Kathmandu. As the conflict in West Asia is about to enter its fourth week, South Korea has started an active dialogue with Iran and other countries to normalize the world's main trade route, the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's obstruction in this important route, which accounts for more than 20 percent of the world's total oil trade, has directly affected the energy security of East Asian countries such as South Korea and Japan.
South Korea strongly condemned Iran's attacks in the Gulf region, expressing solidarity with the joint statement of seven countries including Japan and European countries. The statement demanded an immediate halt to Iran's drone and missile attacks on commercial ships, laying of sea mines and attacks on civilian infrastructure.
