Risk of flooding in five districts today, urge to be alert

Kathmandu. The Flood Forecasting Division under the Department of Water and Meteorology has asked people to be vigilant saying that there is a risk of flooding in five districts today on June 18. Today, the flow of small rivers flowing through Kanchanpur, Kailali, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi West and surrounding districts will increase significantly and there is a moderate risk of flash floods, so caution has been requested in the coastal areas.
The division has also predicted that the flow of small rivers flowing through Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces may suddenly increase tomorrow, Friday and next Saturday. According to the measurement this morning, the flow of Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali and their tributaries and Kankai, Kamala, Babai, East Rapti and West Rapti rivers are below the alert level.
