Butwal. The Supreme Court has issued an interim order not to immediately implement the decision of the Election Commission to relieve the ward president of Butwal sub-metropolitan city-3, Bishnu Dhakal. A single bench of Justice Sapna Pradhan Malla on Tuesday demanded a written reply from the opposition including Election Commission, Nepali Congress and ordered not to implement the Commission's decision immediately.

The court has directed the Election Commission and other opponents to submit a written response as per the law regarding the grounds and reasons for Dhakal's dismissal.

With the Supreme Court's interim order, Dhakal will remain in charge of the Ward President. After the Nepali Congress informed the Election Commission that Dhakal had left the party and joined another party, the commission decided that his post was vacant.

Although Dhakal was a political leader from the then CPN-Maoist, he was elected on the Congress symbol in the local elections.
