Nepal Agricultural Cooperative Central Union elected new leadership as president

Kathmandu. A new working committee consisting of 15 members has been elected from the 5th session of Nepal Agricultural Cooperative Central Union Limited under the leadership of Ekraj Upreti. Poorna Sharma has been elected as the vice-president of the new working committee.  

Earlier, Ekraj Upreti from Bagmati, Krishna Vavu Shrestha from Gandaki, Poorna Sharma from Lumbini and Dharma Kunwar from Sudurpaschim were elected unopposed for the 15 member board of directors. Similarly, elections were held in Koshi, Madhes and Karnali under the representation of the province. Indira Niraula won from Koshi with 45 votes. In Koshi, his opponent Khagendraraj Bhandari got 41 votes. Similarly, Mishra Lal Sahni won in Madhes province with 56 votes. Other candidates from Madhes state, Ram Sovit Yadav got 20 votes, Dipendra Kumar Yadav got 12 votes, Ram Chandra Yadav got 5 votes and Shambhu Nath Yadav got 3 votes. 

Similarly, Dharmaraj Thapa was elected in Karnali province with 28 votes. His opponent Chandni Dhakal got 26 votes. 

Similarly, Chiranjeevi K.C. is an open operator. 377, Sukhdev Neupane 362, Hari Bahadur Basnet 335, Hari Bahadur Adhikari won by getting 325 votes. Other candidates Suman Nepal got 221 votes and Narayan Prasad Khanal got 241 votes.  Similarly, Geeta KC 415, Meena Kumari Dhakal 401, Devaki Kumari Bhandari 323 and Goma Devi Acharya have won by getting 257 votes. Similarly, his rival Jhupa Pandey got 213 votes, Nayan Kala Khadka got 120 votes and Kamala Kumari Rimal got 156 votes.  

Chief Electoral Officer Senior Advocate Poshanraj Lamichhane administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 15 directors elected for a 4-year term. Currently, there are 1,151 member organizations in the network of the Central Union. The association has expanded its working area in 77 districts and has been providing services to farmers who are members of 9 lakh households.
