Monthly stipend for the injured of Gen-G movement: Govt started four tier classification
Kathmandu. The government has accelerated the classification of those who were injured during the demonstration by Yuva Pusta Genji on August 23 and 24. The Ministry of Home Affairs has implemented the procedure approved by the Council of Ministers on 22nd of November with the aim of providing support for living with financial assistance to the people injured in the Genji demonstration based on the disability and the severity of the injury.
According to the Secretariat of Home Minister Omprakash Aryal, the relevant district administration offices will recommend the classification of the injured and based on the recommendations, the Ministry of Health and Population will verify the details.
According to the new procedure, a technical committee has been formed under the coordination of the joint secretary of the Ministry of Health to classify the injured on the basis of disability, which will divide the injured into four categories, simple, moderate, serious and very serious.
Out of those categorized in this way, the severely injured will get Rs 18,000 per month as a livelihood allowance and the seriously injured will get Rs 9,000 per month, while an allowance of Rs 4,000 per month has been arranged for the moderately injured.
According to the instructions given to the concerned agencies to properly manage the injured in accordance with the public opinion, the Classification Facilitation Committee is now advancing this process at a fast pace.
