Madan Award for Traditional Mukundonach Book of Newar Community

21 August, Kathmandu. Madan Award Guthi has won the 2082 Madan Award for Veena Joshi Rajbhandari's traditional book Mukundonach of the Newar community. On Sunday, Gathi Sanstha announced Madan Award for Joshi's book.

The best list of the best 10 works for the Madan Award had already been announced. Among them, Madan Award-2082 was awarded to the traditional Mukundonach book of the Newar community, informed Kund Dixit, president of Madan Award Guthi.

V.No. Since 2072, there has been a practice of selecting a maximum of 10 works from among the books received in Guthi and publishing the best list. According to Guthi's rule, the book which has a majority of unpublished material is considered as a basis for selection. Established in the year 2012, the Madan Prize Guthi awarded the Madan Prize for the first time in 2013 to three works in the genres of prose, social science and science. Since then, the award has been given to best works published in Nepali language.
