It will be decided this week on the basis of which book to calculate the calendar of the year 2083
Kathmandu. The Nepal Panchang Adjudicatory Development Committee has said that a decision will be made this week on which book to calculate Ketaki or Surya Siddhanta for the year 2083. While addressing the introductory program of the new officers and thanking and honoring the former officers organized by the committee here on Sunday, the chairman of the committee, Prof. Shambhu Prasad Dhakal, informed that the decision will be made based on the difference that comes out when doing math based on Ketaki and Surya principles. He said that he found a difference of up to six hours in mathematics based on two texts. The committee said that a meeting will be held with Panchangkar this week for its decision.
"Theoretical astrologer Nayraj Pant said that eclipses and rising of planets should be done on the basis of math and Panchang 9 calendar 0 Surya Siddhanta, I think this is correct, the panchangs submitted to the committee for approval for the coming year have been calculated based on both Surya Siddhanta and Ketaki", said President Dhakal.
The former chairman of the committee and theologian Prof. Dr. Ramchandra Gautam said that the decision will be made on scientific basis except for planetary mathematics. Stating that when deciding to perform Lakshmi Puja on the day of Aunsi during sunset, it also falls on the day of Kukur Tihar, he informed that such a decision is made on the basis of the scriptures.
Another former president, Prof. Shri Krishna Adhikari, said that eclipses, risings, retrograde conditions of planets, etc. are not compatible with Surya Siddhanta. He informed in the program that the Indian astrologer told that it is not compatible with the Sun theory.
