In the National Assembly election, 2 thousand 43 voters, 13 people could not vote

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has finalized the final voter list for the National Assembly elections to be held on January 11. Elections are going to be held for the vacant positions of 19 members who are going to leave after completing their 6-year tenure from February 20th. According to the Commission, a total of 2,043 voters from all seven provinces will vote. It has 545 state assembly members and 1,498 local level chiefs, deputy chiefs, presidents and vice presidents. According to the National Assembly Member Election Act, the vote weight of the Provincial Assembly member is 53 and the vote weight of the local level official is 19.

However, 5 provincial assembly members and 8 local officials will not be allowed to vote in this election. This information was given in a statement issued by Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai on Wednesday. According to the statement, 5 members of the Provincial Assembly, including 1 person who was relieved from office and 4 people who were suspended, have left the voting according to the order of the court. Similarly, it is mentioned that 1 local level official has died and 7 have been suspended so they will not be able to vote.
