Kathmandu. The commission formed to investigate the Genji Rebellion has started calling high-ranking people for statements. When the term of the commission is about to expire, high-ranking people have started to be called for statements. The commission formed to investigate the incidents of August 23 and 24 has summoned Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki on Friday. The statements of the then Inspector General of Police Chandrakuver Khapung and former Home Secretary Gokarmani Duwadi, who came to give statements since Thursday, have not yet been completed. They are also ready to be called today.

Former Home Secretary Gokarmani Duwadi and the then Inspector General of Police Chandrakuver earlier, the statement of Chief District Officer of Kathmandu District, Chabi Rizal, was taken. The Chief Secretary has already given a statement. IGP of Armed Police Raju Aryal has also given a statement. Om Rana of Nepal Police, SSP Rajesh Upreti of Armed Police and then SSP Vishwa Adhikari of Kathmandu Complex have also given statements. The army is not going to send anyone for the statement, while the armed police also said that the staff below will not have to go after the IGP himself is present.

On the first day of the Genji movement, AIG Karki, who was working in the Human Resource Department of the Police Headquarters, was transferred to the Kathmandu Valley Police Office Ranipokhari on the morning of the 24th and was called by the commission to take a statement. Karki, who was AIG at the time of the incident, is Inspector General of Police on October 27. After the statement of these three people, the commission is preparing to take a statement from the former Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar and then the former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Although their statements are ready to be made next week, the commission has not yet sent a letter to both of them.

Along with this, the commission will move towards finalizing the report. The 3-member commission formed under the chairmanship of former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki on October 9 has been given a three-month deadline. If the commission delays in making the report or if the statement is not completed, the commission has also prepared to extend the deadline. The then Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has already said that he will go to give a statement to the Commission, while the then Prime Minister KP Oli has said that he will not go.
