Huge price hike in petroleum products
Kathmandu. Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the price of petroleum products. The corporation has informed that the prices of diesel, kerosene and jet fuel have been increased internally with effect from today. According to the new price list, diesel fuel has been increased by Rs 30 per liter and jet fuel by Rs 5 per liter.
According to the revised prices, the price of diesel fuel has reached Rs 237 per liter while the price of jet fuel has reached Rs 256 per liter. The corporation claims that the price has increased in the international market and there is still a huge loss when calculated according to the new price list sent by the Indian Oil Corporation. According to the corporation, even after adjusting the price due to high cost price and low selling price, the loss per liter of petrol is Rs 2 32 paisa, diesel is Rs 87 99 paisa per liter, kerosene oil is Rs 36 70 paisa and LP gas for cooking is Rs 331 25 paisa per cylinder. It has been mentioned in the statement issued by the corporation that there is a loss of about 7 billion 816 million 61 million on a fortnightly basis.
