Main News Image

Kathmandu. The government has made it clear that Sunday's public holiday will not be withdrawn. Minister of Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel, who is also the spokesperson of the government, said that even though the Sunday holiday is uncomfortable and unpopular for the time being, the government will not back down from the decision as its positive effects will be seen in the long run.

He said that although he was aware of various dissatisfactions regarding the Sunday holiday, the government took the decision while anticipating it. According to Minister Pokharel, the international practice shows that weekly two-day vacation has improved performance, so it is being tried to implement the same practice in Nepal.
