Swargadwari cooperative crisis due to fraud, meterbaze and illegal investment of Maoist leaders!
make it The Swargadwari Savings and Loan Cooperative Society in Banepa, Kavrepalanchok has been in serious trouble in the last few years due to fraud, misappropriation and illegal investment. Swargadwari, which was being operated under the direction of Bhola Prasad Aryal, the then Maoist Center's Kavre coordinator, and Ruku Chaulagai, member of the Bagmati Province Assembly, has reached the point of sinking.
Sakos president Yagya Prasad Pant has been arrested by the police on the charge of misappropriating the funds of the members of the cooperative. Pant was arrested after the depositors of the cooperative registered a complaint of fraud of lakhs of rupees in the police office. It has been found that Pant Syauri Devi is also the president of the cooperative society.
Chairman Pant was arrested about 9-10 months ago for cheating the members of the Panchkhaal branch by giving them blank checks saying that they would return the money within 6 months.
After not being able to return the money, the angry members locked Pant in the office. Some time ago, he was arrested after registering a fraud case against Pant at the District Police Office, Kavre, and was released on a bond of Rs 6 lakh.
A few days ago, he was again arrested by the Bhaktapur police after he was accused of misappropriating money in the Bhaktapur branch. Chairman Pant is also the office secretary of Maoist Center Kavre.
It is alleged that the members of the board of directors cheated the depositors by promising attractive interest rates. According to a saver, the depositor's money is deposited in the cooperative term, deposit, periodic savings, shares and various savings accounts, which earn interest monthly, quarterly and annually, and after exceeding the specified period, the depositors have not returned the amount deposited in that institution with the belief of getting back the entire principal and interest.
