Main News Image

Kathmandu. CPN Maoist Center Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has commented that it is ridiculous to talk about re-establishment now as he played a role in the dissolution of Parliament many times. Speaking at the greeting exchange program organized by the All Nepal Trade Union Federation at the party office in Parisdanda on Saturday, President Dahal said that the demand for the re-establishment of parliament is ridiculous in the current political context.

He mentioned that the election scheduled for next January 21 is a continuation of the constitutional and democratic practice and said that any attempt to stop it would be fatal for the nation. If there is no election, the country is in danger of going into chaos again, he said. Prachanda insisted that it is necessary for everyone to complete the election with national consensus. He said that he believes that the government is serious about elections. Prachanda mentioned that the current constitution has slipped off the track to some extent and said that the only way to bring it back on track is to amend the constitution.
