Krishna Prasad Yadav of Congress appointed as Chief Minister of Madhesh Province

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Krishna Prasad Yadav has been appointed as the chief minister in Madhesh province. The provincial head Dr. Surendra Lab has appointed the Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168 of the Constitution. Yadav became the Chief Minister with the support of the seven-party alliance. He was appointed with the support of 77 MPs from Congress, JSP Nepal, Janmaat, CPN Maoist Center, LOSPA and United Socialist Party.

After UML's Saroj Kumar Yadav resigned on 17th of November, the state chief called for the formation of a new government according to Article 2.
When UML's Yadav was appointed Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168-3 of the Constitution, the seven-party alliance filed a writ in the Supreme Court on the night of 23rd Kartik last night. The Supreme Court had ordered the then government to take a vote of confidence within 24 hours on the 15th of November or to form another government as per clause 2.
