Kathmandu. The special convention supporters of Nepali Congress have organized a special meeting in Kathmandu today. A national meeting is going to be held today on the call of the General Minister Gagan Thapa and Vishwa Prakash Sharma. Leader Gururaj Ghimire informed that the gathering will start at 1 PM at the National Assembly House Bhrikutimandap.
The supporters of the special convention submitted the signatures of 54 percent of the convention delegates across the country to the party's executive chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka on October 28, demanding a special convention. In the Constitution of the Congress, there is a provision to call a special convention within 3 months if 40 percent of the convention delegates demand it. According to this, the Congress is under a legal obligation to hold a regular or special convention within the next 28 years.
