Kathmandu. With the increase in the cold wave in the Terai region, the number of patients reaching the hospital with the problem of headache has increased significantly. According to doctors, cold air, sudden change in temperature and lack of water in the body are the main reasons for this.

According to Roshan Khadka, the blood flow to the head decreases due to the constriction of the blood vessels in winter, causing a heavy or constant headache. He said that drinking less water and dehydration can also cause headaches when thirst is reduced in winter.
Motorcyclists, those who sleep in the cold and use mobile computers for long periods of time are more at risk. Also, doctors say that cold weather will aggravate the problem in migraine and sinus patients.
Doctors have suggested drinking enough water, wearing warm clothes, sun exposure and if the problem is serious, consult a doctor immediately.
