Voting continues in all seven provinces for 17 members of the National Assembly

Kathmandu. Voting has started to elect vacant members in the National Assembly. 17 seats are vacant in the National Assembly since February 20, 2082. The Election Commission has informed that the voting has started from 9:00 am.

Voting will continue till 3:00 pm today, spokesperson of the commission Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed. Out of the 18 vacant posts, Khas Arya was unopposed in one post in Koshi province. Elections for the remaining 17 posts are scheduled to be held today. Sunil Bahadur Thapa of Nepali Congress, the candidate for Khas Arya from Koshi Province, was elected unopposed. Voting for the remaining 17 posts has started at designated polling stations and polling centers in the capitals of all seven provinces.

Voting has started in Biratnagar Morang State Election Office Complex of Koshi Province, Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Culture Center Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City (4 Dhanusha) of Madhes Province, Bhutan Devi Secondary School Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City 4 Makwanpur of Bagmati Province.
