UML will protest nationwide against the arrest of Vice President Paudel

Main News Image

Kathmandu. CPN-UML has signaled that the arrest of party vice-president Bishnu Prasad Paudel is a political vindictive move and will come out strongly against the government. The ninth meeting of the Central Secretariat held at the party headquarters, Chasal, has decided to strongly counter the incident from both political and legal levels.

After the meeting, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel announced the decision and said that the party took Paudel's arrest as a serious attack on democratic values, rule of law and civil liberties. According to UML's conclusion, Poudel was arrested targeting the opposition leadership with political bias in the name of wealth laundering without any clear facts or evidence. The party has said that such a move has raised serious questions about the impartiality and credibility of the state's investigation agencies.
