Risk of flooding in the river coastal areas of Kathmandu: Request not to use corridor roads

Kathmandu. As the water flow in the main rivers of Kathmandu Valley is high due to continuous rains, the security agencies have increased vigilance in the river coastal areas and corridors keeping in mind the possible risk.

According to the Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Superintendent of Police SP Nareshraj Subedi, requests have been made to remove parked and stopped vehicles on the river bank and corridor areas, while work is underway to remove vehicles from dangerous places. Nepal Police, Traffic Police and other security agencies are jointly monitoring the corridor area around the clock.

As the flood risk has increased especially in the Bagmati and Bishnumati Corridor areas, the police have requested the general public to be careful and avoid using the corridor roads as much as possible. Information about this is being continuously transmitted through Metro Traffic FM.
