Political parties have also stepped up their election activities. There is a sense that the country is gradually moving forward in the atmosphere of elections.
Political activity has started to increase nationwide. Starting from major political parties, new political parties have also started election-focused campaigns across the country.
Nepali Congress has already started selecting candidates nationwide and sending them to the center. The party is selecting candidates through both direct and proportional systems. Along with the candidates for the members of the House of Representatives, the Congress is also selecting the candidates for the National Assembly. Congress is ahead of other political parties in the selection of candidates.
The 11th Congress of CPN-UML has started on Saturday. In the opening session of the convention, the president of that party, KP Sharma Oli, questioned whether the UML, which is expected to win the majority, will run away from the election if the election is free from the shadow of pressure and revenge. He opined that the government should create an environment for fair and free elections.
President Oli asked to create the necessary environment for the election and to encourage the activities of political parties. UML has completed its activities including party registration within the time limit set by the commission for the election.
