Today, the 213th birth anniversary of Adi Kavi Bhanu Bhakta is being celebrated
Kathmandu. The 213th birth anniversary of Adicavi Bhanubhakta Acharya is being celebrated today by organizing various programs in the country and abroad. Bhanubhakta has given Nepali people a great deal by presenting the 'Ramayana', a biography of King Rama of Ayodhya, written in Sanskrit language. The Ramayana written by him is still recited in the homes of Nepali people with a melodious rhythm.
It is said that Nepal, which was geographically unified by Prithvi Narayan Shah, was unified by Adicavi Bhanu Bhakta through language, literature and culture. Bhanubhakta, who was born in Chundiramgha of Tanahun on 29th of June 1871, was inspired to compose Ramayana in Nepali because a common farmer advised him to 'earn a name by doing good deeds after birth'.
