To stop Shankar Pokharel and Mahesh Basnet, vandalism at Simra airport, curfew in Bara
Kathmandu. After CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and Politburo member Mahesh Basnet went to Bara, there was tension there. The group trying to stop the UML leaders and the UML workers clashed. The angry group also vandalized the gate of Simra airport in Bara. When the youths started pushing the gate of the airport, the police stationed there tried to stop them. The gate broke and fell on top of the policeman. Then some young people entered. But in a short time they were taken out by the police.
A team including CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and Mahesh Basnet is going to Bara to participate in the youth union program organized today at Parwanipur in Bara. Before the leaders reached Bara, there was a clash between local youth and UML workers in Simra market. The local administration imposed a curfew to prevent the situation from escalating. From Gandak canal to the right and left of Pathalaiya road section, 500 meters and 500 meters around Simra Airport, it is prohibited to hold any kind of gathering, procession, demonstration, assembly, meeting, gathering etc.
Due to the clashes, the situation there has now become tense. As part of the Yuva Janajagaran Abhiyan program, Yuva Sangh, the youth organization of CPN-UML, has organized a program at the Madhesh state level today in Parwanipur of Bara. After receiving information that the leaders of the angry group UML were coming to the airport, some angry youth broke the gate of the airport and entered. The district administration office has issued a curfew order after the tension escalated.
