Due to extreme cold, students are not able to attend school, due to cold, students have problems like cold and pneumonia, and parents are also depressed, so schools are also closed.

Most of the citizens of Upper Mustang used to lock themselves in their houses to avoid the risk of extreme cold and snowfall. Except for some senior citizens in the village and shepherds who take care of yakchauri and sheepfolds, all the mustangis used to go to Pokhara, Kathmandu and other places during this time. Some citizens used to travel to different cities of India for the trade of 'sweaters'. Similarly, the upper mustangs, which had gone down before October, would return to their former places only in March-May.
