The proposal to increase the post of DIG in Nepal Police was rejected
Kathmandu. The government that gave DIG Darwandi to the legal level of the armed police has discriminated against the Nepal Police. After rejecting the proposal to increase the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police in Nepal Police, the discrimination was done. After the Ministry of Finance refused to proceed with the process for increasing the number of posts by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Nepal Police requested the government to add the necessary number of posts, saying that three more DIGs are also needed.
Nepal Police had proposed to add the post of DIG in Human Resource Development Department and Directorate of Communication. The Ministry of Home Affairs approved it and sent it to the Ministry of Finance for approval.
However, the employees of the Ministry of Home Affairs claim that the post of DIG was cut when the file came from the Ministry of Finance. Artha has given approval to add three posts of three SSPs. But the DIG's request was rejected. It has been decided that the post of SSP will be increased in the Secretariat of the Inspector General of Police, the Law Division and the Economic and Financial Investigation Division of the CIB. Along with this additional recruitment, there will be promotion from SP to SSP.
Some unnecessary posts at the lower level will be cut and the posts will be matched according to the needs of the higher posts. The police headquarters has expressed its dissatisfaction with the police after the Ministry of Finance cut down on the proposal of job matching without financial burden. Whereas in the Law Division of the Armed Police, where there are 14 posts, Artha has approved the post of DIG.
