Bheriganga. In Surkhet, the number of people registering voters has increased. According to Provincial Election Office, Surkhet, the number of people who registered was low in the first days when the new voter list registration was opened. But in the last few days, there has been an increase in the number of voters. Nandaram Chaulagain, head of Provincial Election Office Surkhet, informed that around 250 people come to make a new voter list every day.
Chaulagai says that the office has been opened since 8:00 a.m. due to the increase in the number of voters. "In the early days when the Commission started the process of registering the voter list, only five to seven people came to register," he said. After the increase in pressure, we have opened the office from 8 am and are working.
According to him, 1,700 new voters have been added in Surkhet district alone. He says that this number will increase further as the time for registration is till 30th of October. According to the updated information till last March, there are 19389 male voters in Surkhet and 125 thousand 285 female voters, totaling 244 thousand 674 people. There are nine lakh eight thousand 433 voters in Karnali. Now, with the addition of new voters, it is estimated that the number of voters will reach around ten lakh.
