Kathmandu. The current government led by Balendra Shah Balen has prepared to dismiss the officials of the public bodies who were appointed by the previous governments on the basis of party affiliation and political proximity. It is claimed that the process of canceling about 1,200 political appointments has been initiated through half a dozen ordinances to fulfill the election promise of freeing the public administration from party interference.
The Council of Ministers meeting held on Wednesday decided to recommend 6 ordinances to the President, including the 'ordinance made to make special provisions regarding the dismissal of public officials'. Soon after the formation of the government, it announced the agenda to be completed on 13th Chait and indicated to pave the way for the political appointees. Although some officials resigned from the chairmanship of the Securities Board, RAS and NEPSE, the government took a tough decision to remove them through an ordinance.
