The main highways are blocked in different parts of the country, what is the situation?
Kathmandu. Due to continuous rains, floods and landslides across the country, various main highways have been completely and partially blocked. According to the information released by the police headquarters, transport services have been affected due to road blockage in various parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Madhyapahari Lokmarg located in Bhojpur municipality-5 Bokhim of Koshi province is open only in one direction due to flood and another alternative route is also available. Similarly, the Mechi Highway at Rajudwali in Ilam Municipality-9 and the Madhyapahari Highway at Mamkha in Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadhi Municipality-6 in Khotang have been completely blocked due to landslides.
Towards Bagmati province, the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Kattunjebensi BP highway in Kavre has been affected due to possible flooding. In this section, the operation of all vehicles has been stopped from 18:00 at night to 04:00 in the morning, and from 04:00 in the morning to 18:00 in the evening, arrangements have been made to resume the movement of vehicles considering the situation.
