Kathmandu. The government has reduced the limit of cash transactions. The cabinet meeting held on Monday has set a limit that the purchase and sale of services, goods or other transactions of 5 lakhs or more at a time must be done through financial institutions or banking.

Earlier, there was a provision that transactions of more than 1 million rupees should be done through the banking system. The government of Nepal has decided to implement new provisions with the aim of discouraging cash transactions, concluding that wealth is being cleansed through cash transactions.
