'Sweep operation' against gangsters and drug addicts

Kathmandu. District Police Office, Kaski conducted a 'sweep operation' at five places in Pokhara last night. According to the office, 122 people involved in illegal activities were detained during the operation. Ganesh Pandey, Police Inspector and Acting Information Officer of the office, said that people who make noise at night, disturb public peace and security, consume illegal drugs including marijuana have been arrested.

 "Among those arrested, 82 people were found to have consumed drugs, some of them were also found with marijuana", he said, "A sweep operation was conducted simultaneously in Baidam, Rambazar, Shishuwa, Bagar and the district police office. 39 people were arrested from Baidam area, 40 people from Rajbazar area, 20 people from Shishuwa, 12 people from Bagar and 11 people were arrested from around Zipr."
