Request of seven parties to call for government formation in Madhes province

Janakpurdham. Seven parties, including the Nepali Congress, have requested the Chief of Madhes Province, Sumitra Subedi Bhandari, to call for the formation of the government according to Article 168, Sub-section 2 of the Constitution of Nepal. Leaders and parliamentarians of Congress, JSP Nepal, Janmat, Nepal Communist Party, Maoist Center, LOSPA, CPN United Socialist Party and Civil Liberties Party have requested to call for the formation of the government according to Article 168, Clause 2 of the Constitution of Nepal.

Outgoing Chief Minister Jitendra Prasad Sonar 'Sonal' said that since more than 80 MPs of seven non-Congress parties are in favor of the government, they have been requested to form the government according to sub-section 2. Provincial Chief Bhandari has said that she has taken this issue very seriously

Currently, there are 22 members from Congress, 18 from Jaspa, 13 from Janmat, nine from Maoist Center, eight from LOSPA, seven from United Socialist Party and one from Civil Immunity. LOSPA leader Sonal Biswas, who became the Chief Minister in Madhes on October 29 with the support of six parties, resigned in the House after seeing that he could not get the vote of confidence. Although his resignation has been accepted, the provincial chief has not yet called for the formation of a new government.
