Main News Image

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah Bale has been included in the list of 100 influential people of the world. Balen's name is also included in the list of "100 influential people in the world of 2026" published by the prestigious international media Time magazine. Time included him in the list of powerful politicians, artists and thinkers in the leader category. Time has described the 36-year-old Shah as a "former hip-hop star" and the "youngest prime minister" in Nepal's history.

The magazine mentioned that Balen won a landslide victory in the general election held on February 21 due to the unprecedented support of the youth generation and their distaste for the old leaders. TIME has commented that Shah now faces the challenge of taking the reforms in waste management, education and health sectors to the national level when he was the mayor of Kathmandu. His rise has been interpreted as a major blow against South Asia's entrenched formulaic dynastic politics.
