Portugal bans worker visas, embassy urges to avoid fraud

Kathmandu. The Nepali Embassy in Portugal has urged Nepalis in various countries of Nepal and the Middle East to avoid fraud in the name of worker visa. The embassy issued a statement on Wednesday evening and urged all concerned to take precautions when the Portuguese government has stopped issuing all types of worker visas except for the highly skilled, effective from 23 October 2025.

The embassy has warned Nepalis in various countries of Nepal and the Middle East not to engage in such illegal activities and in the context of receiving information about fraudulent business under the guise of getting them to work in Portugal. In this way, the embassy has requested everyone concerned to avoid fraud in the name of coming or sending Pochugal, making it clear that no one can come here using such visas in the current situation where worker visas have been closed.
