These are the Martyrs of Genji Movement (with list)

Kathmandu. The government has declared 45 people who lost their lives during the Genji movement as martyrs. The cabinet meeting held today at Sinha Darbar has declared 45 people who were killed in the movement by Genji on August 23 and 24 as martyrs on the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

More than 72 protesters, prisoners and others died in that movement. The government has already decided to provide financial assistance to the families of the martyrs and the injured of the Genji movement.

Buddhi Bahadur Tamang of Kirtipur Municipality-2 of Kathmandu and Iswat Bahadur Adhikari of Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality-11, Santosh Vishwakarma of Belka Municipality-4 of Udaipur, Sulabraj Shrestha and Ayush Thapa of Nepalganj Sub-Metropolitan Municipality-1 of Banke, Shriyam Chaulagai of Belbari Municipality-11 of Morang, Gaurav Joshi of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Municipality-5 of Kailali, Yog Bahadur of Sindhupalchok Bahrbise Municipality-6. Umesh Mahat of Shrestha and Chautara Sangachokgadhi municipality-8 has been declared a martyr.

Similarly, Ashav Alam Thakurai of Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality-12 in Parsa, Saurankishore Shrestha of Balgung Municipality-4 in Baglung, Subhash Kumar Bohra of Khaptadchanna Rural Municipality-7 in Bajhang and Bhimraj Dhami of Durgathali Rural Municipality-1, Rasik Khatiwada Khatri of Panauti Municipality-10 of Kavrepalchok and Dilnarayan Tamang of Temal Rural Municipality-7, Lalitpur of Lalitpur Vinod Maharjan of Metropolitan Municipality-7, Yogendra Neupane of Golanjor Rural Municipality-1 of Sindhuli, Milan Rai of Dudhauli Municipality-8 and Dipesh Sunuwar of Tinpatan Rural Municipality-6 have also been declared martyrs.
