One thousand 719 drivers in 24 hours in traffic action
Kathmandu. In the past twenty-four hours, 1,719 drivers who did not follow traffic rules have been arrested. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 113 people who drove under the influence of alcohol, 35 who were not in good mechanical condition, 102 who violated traffic lights, 93 who drove at high speed, 179 who did not follow lane discipline and 38 drivers who operated public transport in an unsafe manner.
Likewise, 46 people who blew the horn unnecessarily, 20 people who picked up and alighted passengers at designated places, and 1,93 people who violated other traffic rules were punished. According to the office, 11 lakh 84 thousand 500 revenue has been deposited in the state fund from traffic operations.
