Kathmandu. The government led by Prime Minister Shusila Karki has prepared to cancel the controversial political appointments. The government, which recalled the ambassadors of 11 countries just a few days ago, is now going to cancel the political appointments given to important bodies. Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been heavily criticized for appointing important positions only after receiving bribes.

The appointment of the chairman of the Securities Board is the most controversial appointment made by Oli. It is alleged that 5 billion rupees was manipulated in this appointment. A complaint has also been filed against Prime Minister Oli in the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, saying that there was a manipulation of 5 billion in the process of appointing the chairman of the board.

Nepal IPPAN, an organization of independent power producers, is publicly accusing Securities Board Chairman Sanetosh Narayan Shrestha of asking for bribe for IPO approval. Ippan has announced that he will go on strike saying that he cannot bribe Board Chairman Shrestha under any circumstances.
Oli, who is also the president of UML, has also been accused of taking 60 million rupees from a middleman to organize the 'KP Oli Cup' football tournament. Sources claim that during the appointment of the board chairman, he received a bribe of 60 million from an intermediary in the name of football.

Similarly, there is an allegation of rigging in the appointment of the Chairman of the Insurance Authority. Prime Minister Oli has also been accused of making a big deal in the selection of the executive director of Nepal Oil Corporation. It is alleged that he has acted as a middleman in the appointment of CEO of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited NEPSE.
