Kathmandu. Nepal remains on the "grey list" of the Financial Action Task Force FATF. The full meeting of FATF held in Paris, France has decided to put Nepal on the watch list with the conclusion that the strategic weakness related to AMLRCFT, prevention of money laundering and financial investment in terrorist activities, has yet to be fully improved.

The Government of Nepal has stated that the 15-point reform program is being implemented under the two-year action plan and the domestic work has been accelerated with the goal of getting out of the gray list within the next 8 months. Nepal was included in the gray list of FATF in February 2025. Even before this, Nepal was included in the list from 2008 to 2014.
